Technical Support Specialist

The primary function of a Technical Support Specialist is to provide end user technical support for computer related issues including hardware, software, and applications. Additionally, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and resolve problems to minimize downtime.

Tasks include:

  • Provide end user support
  • Conduct computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems
  • Collaborate with end users to determine hardware and software needs
  • Install, maintain, and service PCs, servers, network equipment, and other peripheral devices
  • Contact vendors for assistance when necessary
  • Add and maintain documentation to knowledge base
  • Create and execute scripts
  • Conduct troubleshooting for networking and connectivity issues
  • Monitor and review error logs for remediation
  • Deploy software via MDM
  • Facilitate training with end users in one-on-one and/or group setting


Education and Work Experience

  • Two-year Associate degree in CIS/MIS or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in Technical Support field
  • CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications preferred





Knowledge and Skills

  • VMWare
  • Microsoft ADDS (Active Directory Domain Services)
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerShell
  • Knowledge of MacOS, iOS, and Android operating systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of networking infrastructure and protocols
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time
