About Fluoropolymer Finishes

Kolbe’s aluminum-clad windows and doors are available in a range of high-performance exterior finishes designed for exceptional durability, chemical resistance, abrasion, corrosion protection, and long-term weathering performance. In addition to the standard palette, custom colors can be specified, as well as Anodized aluminum and Mica fluoropolymer finishes.

About Interior Stain

Kolbe products can be finished on the interior with a water-based, low-VOC stain. After staining, a clear coat is applied, the surface is sanded, and a second clear coat is applied. Custom colors may be requested as well.

About Wood Species

The selection of wood species is of utmost importance to interior décor. The below wood species are available for Kolbe windows and doors; less common and exotic wood species may be requested as well. Please consult your local Kolbe dealer for availability.

Notes

Kolbe® has been granted Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain-of-Custody Certification, as have many of our dealers. Consult with your dealer about using FSC®-COC certified wood in your project.

Most Kolbe windows and doors are constructed of Pine unless otherwise requested. Because wood varies by nature, the wood used in our products may vary in grain and color from that shown here. Please make selections using actual wood samples from your local Kolbe dealer.

About Performance Glass

About Exterior Styles

For an extremely streamlined look, choose Flush Style VistaLuxe Collection windows and doors, which are created with the sash in the same plane as the frame.

To add depth and visual interest to your project, choose Accent Style VistaLuxe Collection products. The sash is recessed from the frame to create a shadow line, while still keeping glass in the same plane as other Accent Style windows and doors.

About Screen Mesh

Various types of screen mesh are available to keep insects from entering open windows and doors. Most Kolbe windows and doors have BetterVue® fiberglass mesh, which is less visible than many screens in the industry. Plus, the tighter weave keeps smaller bugs out, is flame retardant, and doesn't stain, crease or dent.

For even better visibility, request UltraVue® mesh. Both BetterVue and UltraVue are GreenGuard®-certified, meaning that they meet strict chemical emissions limits for healthier interiors. Plus, they have the added value of Water Shed Technology™, which is an advanced water repellent coating that allows screens to repel water and debris. It increases the life expectancy of the screens by keeping them cleaner longer. Water beads up and rolls off, to preserve viewing clarity, rain or shine. As you can see, the view remains much more visible when screens have Water Shed Technology applied (left side of Water Shed photo), as opposed to those without it (right side of Water Shed photo).

Aluminum screen mesh is available for areas with fiberglass screen-eating insects.
